Endless opportunities for walkers, hikers, runners or cyclists.
Recreatiepark De Oude Maas loves cyclists and cyclists love Recreatiepark De Oude Maas. That is what we have experienced as the Tour de France visited Rotterdam in 2010. Many cyclists then enjoyed the well-marked cycling routes here. You will find a rich diversity of interesting sights and attractions within a short distance; the landscape is predominantly flat and there are a huge number of cycle routes.
Or step on board the waterbus ferry with your bike and buy a Day Travel Card with the steward to get to Kinderdijk, your bike is free of charge.
You don't even have to bring your own bike. Rent one with us. We offer great deals! For more information click here
The junction route network pretty much covers most of the Netherlands. Every junction has a number and an information board which contains an overview map. It also indicates the distance to the next junction. At every junction, you have a choice of several junction numbers to continue your trip. The advantage of this system is that everyone determines for themselves how short or long they want their route to be. Moreover, the system is flexible: at every junction, you can decide to shorten or change the route. To cycle from one junction to another, just keep following the route signs with the number of the next junction. It couldn’t be any simpler.
Your feet can take you to some fantastic places!
Our campsite is a haven for walkers. Nature enthusiasts will enjoy strolling along the riverbank and walking through the fresh water tide landscape, the Rhoonse and Carnisse Grienden for sure. The many pollard willows stand in water twice a day, at high tide. Pedestrians keep their feet dry thanks to small dikes and bridges. You will be rewarded with gorgeous scenery.
Whether you want an easy ramble or a more strenuous hike the footpaths near our campsite reveal Dutch polder landscapes, lovely villages, dikes and country lanes.
Our reception provides extensive tourist information. You will find many free leaflets, covering specific local attractions like for example the mills of Kinderdijk, information regarding public transport and free cycle or walk descriptions.
You can be sure of a warm, friendly welcome and helpful advice!
