Recreation park De Oude Maas is surrounded by lovely villages and interesting cities. On cycling distance you will find well preserved old village centres such as those of Barendrecht, Oud-Beijerland and Rhoon. Or do you wish to visit the monumental church of Kijfhoek from 1368 in Zwijndrecht. Or maybe you prefer seeing the Pendrechtse Mill, a national monument from 1731. Kinderdijk with it's world famous windmills is also not for from our park.

Make historical footprints in the oldest city of that part of the Netherlands known as ‘Holland'. The historic inner city of Dordrecht lies concealed between mighty rivers. The 1000 monuments determine the face of a city which originated almost a thousand years ago. Just wander arround the city, follow the signs for the 'Rondje Dordt' city walk or view the monuments from the water. Choose your way how to discover Dordrecht!
The modern port of Rotterdam has much to offer in the cultural field. Its many museums house interesting collections for young and old, and of course the modern architecture of Rotterdam is worth a visit in itself. For example the special cube houses, a set of innovative houses or the Erasmus Bridge (Dutch : Erasmusbrug) a cable-stayed bridge across the Nieuwe Maas.
Rotterdam also has a wide range of attractions and shops – not to mention bars, restaurants and nightlife – making it a city that offers the modern tourist something of everything.

Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen is one of the oldest museums in the Netherlands. The museum houses a unique collection of paintings, sculptures and everyday objects. The collection of prints and drawings is one of the best in the world.
The Wereld Museum (World Museum) features exhibits on world cultures, their rituals, stories and sacred objects.
Rotterdam is a fabulous shopping city. The shops in the city centre are open seven days a week. From exclusive to popular, from megastore to small boutique, situated in an arcade or a bustling street, Rotterdam has it all. Famous is the Beurstraverse, locally known as the Koopgoot or ‘buying trench’, which runs under the Coolsingel.

Lovers of nature will enjoy the Rhoonse and Carnisse Grienden a fresh water tide landscape. The many pollard willows stand in water twice a day, at high tide. Pedestrians keep their feet dry thanks to small dikes and bridges. In addition to the many birds that nest there, you will find also special plants and flowers.
Characteristic for the environment of our park are also the typical Dutch polder landscapes with farms, cows, dikes and country lanes. Surely you will be surprised by beautiful views over the water. A nice area with special flora and fauna you can visit quietly walking or cycling.
Recreation Park De Oude Maas offers seniors many opportunities for a peaceful holiday tot relax. You can either watch the ships on the river Oude Maas or read a book in the sun on our campsite. Such a relaxing day at our campsite is of course wonderful. However there are plenty of things to do and experience in the near vicinity of our campsite. What do you think of a nice walk along the river and pause for a moment on a bench. Or play golf on the nearby golf course in Rhoon. Also important to know our camping is car-free.
Children up to 5 years can have fun at our mini playground. From your seat, you can easily watch them play. Ask for these special pitches at your booking.

- indoor swimming pool Inge De Bruijn, named after the famous swimmer.

banks of the river Oude Maas, through the woods, over al railway bridge and a railway tunnel.
